Jewellery Care

Ariana Boussard-Reifel’s metal is a natural and earth-derived material. It is not plated with metal or plastic coating to keep it from environmental reactions. It will likely change over time, this is the nature of organic materials which can add to the character of the piece.

The jewellery will patina over time and some wear like nicks and scratches and even tarnishing will likely occur with use.

Sterling Silver: Tarnish can occur when it comes in contact with the oxygen in the air. Counterintuitively, the best way to keep your silver from blackening is to touch it and wear it. The oils from your skin add a layer of tarnish resistance. For deep storage, it is best to use an airtight container. If you do see some tarnishing, you can polish it with a jewellery polishing cloth, or if it is very strong, we recommend Wright's Silver polish.
