Marques’Almeida have long championed a ‘good-vibes’ way of doing things. The imposed halt on the fashion industry due to the pandemic, ‘lifted a veil of pressure’ from the designers’ shoulders and gave them the time to sketch out a manifesto for Environmental and Social Responsibility this season and onwards.
The palette for this collection emerged from muted natural dyes –– remnants of onion peels, plant roots, and wood have coloured their fabrics, and inspired a 90’s grunge-inflected mood. The label’s cool-girl aesthetic and slouchy silhouettes were reworked through the lens of sustainability with the conscious use of recycled and organic materials.
